However, producers outside the EU who export to the European market are not held to the same standards. The result: unfair competition and a competitive edge for products from the worst forms of factory farming. **L214 is calling for the inclusion of mirror measures in European law, so that any product that does not comply with "animal welfare" regulations can no longer enter the EU market. This is one of the 12 measures in the European Charter for the Rescue of the Century.** **Thanks to your campaign and L214’s work with MEPs, amendments have been tabled as part of the revision of the CMO** (Common Market Organisation) regulation for the future CAP (Common Agricultural Policy) by five political groups within the European Parliament’s AGRI Committee. **A decisive vote on mirror measures will take place in early December**: call on the MEPs on the AGRI Committee to commit to banning products of animal origin that do not comply with ‘animal welfare’ legislation from entering the European market.
